Faux Finish Canvas

Note: Please take a moment to review instructions on all product packages before beginning any project.
Refer to the color photo for the following instructions.
To stencil, use a sponge to pick up a small amount of color, and pat on palette to remove excess color. Stencil the design using a straight up-and-down pouncing motion. Applying two thin coats is recommended because applying coats too heavily will cause color to bleed under edge of stencil. |
- Basecoat the canvas with Dresden Flesh using 1" wash/glaze. Let dry.
- Trace pattern onto tracing paper. Transfer the heart pattern onto the canvas using the transfer paper and the stylus. Note: Pattern can be adapted to fit canvas of choice.

| Paint |
- Base heart with a mix of Dresden Flesh + Fiesta Pink (2:1) using the 1" wash/glaze.
- Measure and mark 1-1/2" in on each 10"-long side. Place low-tack painter’s tape along the outer edge of each line to create a 5"-wide center area. Apply
a mix of Faux Finish Glaze Base + White (4:1) onto the center area. Using a comb, create interesting patterns through the wet glaze mix. Allow to dry.
Tip: When working with the comb, wipe the edge off after each time so the paint does not build up. Remove the tape, and place along the other edge of each line. Apply Glaze mix to the borders, and press plastic wrap into wet glaze and lift. Remove tape and let dry.
- Peel back off Rose stencil and press in place. Stencil the design with White as desired. Let dry. Repeat with a mix of Faux Finish Glaze Base + Fiesta Pink (3:1) as desired.
- Spray the back of the Script Alphabet stencil with adhesive. Allow to dry for several minutes, and then remove excess with paper towel. Press stencil firmly in place. Stencil the “love” lettering with White as desired.
- Using a soft paper towel, rub diagonally through center of canvas with small amount of the mix of Faux Finish Glaze Base + White (1:1). Repeat process in opposite corners with the mix of Faux Finish Glaze Base + Fiesta Pink (3:1). Let dry.
- Press Sprig stencil firmly in place and using an Easy Grip Spreader, slather Texture Magic White and Rose Whisper over the stencil. Repeat as many times as desired. Allow to dry before moving the stencil to another position.
- When dry, pick up a mix of Faux Finish Glaze Base + Pale Yellow (2:1) on a soft cloth and randomly and lightly rub on the canvas as desired.

Apply as many coats of Satin Varnish as desired using the 1" wash/glaze.
Allow adequate drying time between applications. |
