December 2003 ... SOLD OUT
In our new series, “Accents For The Home,” we will feature a variety of room settings reflecting some of today’s hottest home decorating trends. In this issue, our Christmas room showcases a host of holiday accents, including two altered art frames created by combining the techniques of stamping, stenciling, and painting. This 3-D art form is all the rage and is creating a great deal of excitement in the world of crafting. It’s also appropriate for nearly any age and skill level, thus making it a perfect family activity. Don’t limit yourself to frames, however; books, boxes, and art prints are also fantastic choices for altered art designs. The possibilities are endless! The gift of a handcrafted item is often one that is held most dear. Making gifts for others can be an even more enjoyable and memorable event when shared with others. Why not plan get-togethers with friends and have Christmas crafting nights? This will provide you with the opportunity to share skills, knowledge, and supplies, and to have lots of fun while doing so. |

Christmas 2003— Winter 2004
This year’s issue features nearly 100 designs for your holiday tree! This stellar collection includes a wide variety of ornaments to suit nearly any décor. The featured projects, painted in primitive, country, Victorian, traditional, whimsical, and contemporary styles, are a perfect choice for your gift-giving needs. Many of these designs can be adapted to other surfaces, including holiday tags, cards, and jewelry (pins, pendants, and barrettes), to name just a few. Winning designs from last year’s Quick & Easy Painting Trim-A-Tree Ornament Contest are featured, including Folk Art category Kristin M. Berke’s American Santa and Reindeer (1st place), and Yvonne Miller’s Uncle Sam Banana Gourd (honorable mention). Be sure to check out Kim Iver’s Chickadee Spoon, which won first place in the Traditional category. On a whimsical note, Corinne Riopelle’s design, A Frosty Note, won first place in the Whimsical category and will add a festive tone to your tree. We hope that you enjoy these designs as much as we do! |
