Meet the Designer—Go behind the scenes with your favorite artists in a new column devoted to some of the designers we feature in our issues. Discover what shaped their careers, what inspires their creativity, and more. We also have other new things scheduled to debut later in the year, so we’ll keep you posted.

Old favorites
Of course, we will continue to present those features that have become favorites to our readers. And, as in the past, we will continue to feature projects painted in many styles and on various types of surfaces.

Celebrate the arrival of 2009 with brush in hand—happy painting!

Linda R. Heller
Editor in Chief

It’s just about the time of year when those of us who live up North begin to long for fresh garden vegetables, herbs, and fruits. The reality of working in the garden and picking a ripe tomato off the vine still lies in the distant future; however, that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning and painting right now! Be sure to check out Susan Allemand’s custom-designed plant markers.
